Geneva school board elections: Two seats open, petitions due April 30

The Geneva City School District is seeking candidates to fill two open seats on its Board of Education, with petitions now available for pickup.

One seat carries a five-year term, while the other is for a one-year term. The candidate who receives the most votes will be awarded the longer term.

Interested candidates must be at least 18 years old, have lived in the district for at least one continuous year, and cannot be employed by the school district or reside in the same household as another board member. Petitions can be picked up at the District Office, 400 West North Street, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and must be submitted by April 30.

The two seats are currently held by Brian Finnerty and Matthew Herbert, whose terms expire on June 30. More information is available at www.genevacsd.org.
