The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in injuries early Saturday morning in the Town of Marion.
Deputies responded to the intersection of Marion East Williamson Road and North Main Street at approximately 4:17 a.m. after a vehicle slid through the intersection on snow-covered roads. The vehicle went down an embankment, overturned into a drainage ditch, and began filling with several inches of water.
Deputies were able to remove the driver, who was the sole occupant, and provided aid until emergency responders arrived. The driver sustained injuries and was transported by Williamson Town Ambulance to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for further treatment.
The Marion Fire Department and Williamson Town Ambulance assisted at the scene. Authorities say the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
