The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office will open its doors to the public Sept. 16 for an afternoon focused on its road patrol operations, specialized units and law enforcement career opportunities.
The open house will run from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 7445 County House Road. The event is open to families and other community members interested in learning more about the department.
Visitors will have an opportunity to meet local deputies and explore careers with the Sheriff’s Office while getting a closer look at some of the equipment used by law enforcement.
The department plans to showcase several of its specialized capabilities, including its Incident Command Center, Marine Unit and Lake Patrol, and off-road and ATV patrol operations.
The event is also part of the Sheriff’s Office’s recruitment efforts. The department is encouraging people interested in law enforcement careers to attend and learn more about serving with the agency.
Organizers are billing the open house as a family-friendly event. Food trucks are also expected to be available during the three-hour program.
The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Cayuga County Public Safety Building.
