A Newark man was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly refusing to comply with a court-ordered eviction, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to 1114 South Main Street at 10:10 a.m. to enforce an eviction order issued by the Village of Newark Court on February 12. Upon their arrival, Scott D. Snyder, 44, allegedly refused to leave the premises and resisted arrest, both physically and verbally.

Snyder was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, third-degree criminal trespass, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest. He was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Newark Court on March 19 at 10 a.m.
