Two people were arrested after an armed robbery at a KFC restaurant in Ithaca, where an employee was held at gunpoint before the suspects fled with stolen cash.
According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers responded to the KFC on Elmira Road at approximately 10:04 p.m. on February 13. Investigators identified the suspect with the firearm as 44-year-old Allen Forest, who was accompanied by 24-year-old Jessica Anderson. After taking money, the pair fled to a nearby residence.
A search warrant was executed at the residence with assistance from the Ithaca-Tompkins Specialized Response Team. Officers recovered key evidence and took both suspects into custody.
Forest is facing multiple charges, including robbery in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, menacing, and grand larceny. Anderson has been charged with second-degree robbery.
Following their arraignment before Judge Peacock in Ithaca City Court, Forest was remanded to Tompkins County Jail without bail. Anderson was remanded in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or a $5,000 bond.
