Newark families demand answers after cemetery investigation

Newark families are still seeking answers months after personal items were removed from graves at Newark Cemetery and discarded. While a police larceny investigation has ended, residents insist the issue remains unresolved.

Community members, including Linda Bridgeman and Mabel Murray, continue to press the Newark Village Board and Mayor Jonathan Taylor for accountability. Many are frustrated by the lack of an apology or explanation from village officials.

A growing group of 50 affected residents plans to confront the mayor at Tuesday night’s board meeting, demanding transparency and action. Mayor Taylor is expected to make a public statement at the meeting.
