Finger Lakes Community College student Mason Thompson has been awarded the 2024 New York State Sheriffs’ Institute Criminal Justice Scholarship, recognizing his academic excellence and commitment to a career in law enforcement.
The $500 scholarship is given annually to an FLCC student pursuing a degree in criminal justice. Thompson was selected by his professors for the honor, which was presented to him by Sheriff Cirencione during a ceremony at the college on Tuesday morning.
Thompson, a Farmington native, has set his sights on becoming a police officer. The scholarship highlights his dedication to public service and his outstanding performance in his studies.
FLCC faculty and local law enforcement officials praised Thompson’s hard work and commitment to a career that serves the community.
