During the Day on the Hill program, students spent three days in Washington, D.C., engaging with alumni and professionals across government and nonprofit sectors. They visited institutions like the Environmental Protection Agency and the Peace Corps while participating in networking events and career panels.
President Mark D. Gearan moderated a bipartisan discussion with Congressman Jim McGovern and former Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen. Students also heard from CIA veteran John Sipher and participated in discussions on homeland security, policy, and advocacy. Alumni working in various governmental and nonprofit roles shared their career insights.
The program provided firsthand exposure to political and advocacy careers, helping students envision their futures in Washington. Many found inspiration in the connections they made, reinforcing their ambitions in public service.
