Education staff warned of risks in Trump buyout offer

Education Department officials informed staff Wednesday that the Trump administration’s resignation buyout offer could be canceled without recourse.

Employees were told they would waive legal claims if the deal were rescinded, heightening fears among federal workers, NBC News reports.

While over 40,000 workers have accepted similar offers, skepticism persists about whether promised pay will materialize. Labor unions have sued to block the plan, warning it may be an intimidation tactic.

Trump’s administration, with support from Elon Musk, aims to shrink the federal workforce and may pursue executive actions to dismantle the Education Department.
