Disturbance leads to child endangerment arrest in Canandaigua

A Canandaigua man was arrested after a reported disturbance on Phoenix Street last month. James D. Kavanagh, 35, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and obstructing governmental administration.


Police responded to the scene at 8:43 p.m. and determined that Kavanagh had been involved in a physical altercation while a child was present. Following his arrest, Kavanagh refused to provide fingerprints or a photograph.

He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. No further details have been released about the incident or those involved.
