A Savannah woman has been arrested after a child was hospitalized from exposure to a controlled substance, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. This marks the second arrest after this investigation in the town of Savannah.
Emily A. Taylor, 40, of Wilsey Road, was taken into custody following the January 29 incident. Detectives say a juvenile child was exposed to a controlled substance at Taylor’s residence in the town of Savannah. Deputies discovered additional controlled substances in the home during a subsequent search.
Taylor faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
William Smith, 54, of the same address was taken into custody earlier this week and faces charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Both were transported to the Wayne County Jail after their individual arrests.
