A Savannah man was arrested Tuesday following a domestic incident that resulted in a juvenile’s hospitalization due to exposure to a controlled substance.
William Smith, 54, of Wilsey Road, was taken into custody after deputies conducted a search of his residence on January 29. The search uncovered controlled substances on the premises. Authorities allege that a minor child was exposed to these substances, leading to the child’s hospitalization.
Smith faces multiple charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. He has been transported to the Wayne County Jail and is awaiting a CAP Court appearance.
