The Village of Newark’s Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board are set to review a proposal for a new storage building at upcoming meetings in February.
The Planning Board will convene first, holding a meeting on Monday, February 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Court Room on the second floor of the Newark Municipal Building at 100 East Miller Street. The Zoning Board of Appeals will meet the following week, on Monday, February 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the same location.
Both meetings will review Project #A25-0001, a proposal from Kirt Burghdorf of Fingerlakes Construction on behalf of Adam Olscheweke. The plan involves constructing a 25-by-28-foot storage building at 171 West Shore Boulevard. The property is in a Planned Industrial Development zone.
The project requires an area variance because the proposed structure would sit 17 feet from the side property line, falling short of the 25-foot minimum setback mandated by Article XIII, Chapter 170-52 of the village code.
Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend these meetings to learn more about the project and provide input. The boards will also use the sessions to approve previous meeting minutes and hold pre-meeting workshops starting at 6 p.m.
