Attorney General Letitia James has called for a resolution in the ongoing contract negotiations between MSG Networks and Altice, the owner of Optimum, emphasizing the need to prioritize consumers.
“As two major corporations engage in contract talks, the people who are impacted the most are everyday New Yorkers who simply want to watch sports and enjoy television programming,” James said. “Consumers who expect the programming and games they paid for are the ones missing out.”
The negotiations have left viewers unable to access MSG Networks’ sports coverage, which includes games featuring some of New York’s most beloved teams. The impasse has sparked frustration among fans eager to support their home teams.
James urged both companies to collaborate in good faith to reach a fair agreement. “I will be monitoring this situation closely to ensure New York customers receive the services they are paying for,” she said. “I urge both companies to work together so New Yorkers can get back to rooting for the home teams.”
As the dispute continues, New Yorkers are left without access to programming they rely on, amplifying the pressure on MSG Networks and Altice to find common ground.
