Four arrests have been made so far in connection with a December 21 shooting on Castle Street, where five gunshots were fired near the Geneva Public Library. No injuries were reported, but the incident prompted a wide-ranging investigation that has now tied into a separate gang assault case involving one of the suspects.
Authorities arrested four individuals in connection with the shooting, which occurred around 2 a.m. on Castle Street between Main Street and Dorchester Avenue. Witnesses reported seeing a black four-door sedan fleeing the scene.
The most recent arrest, announced Friday, involved Emily E. Kerr, 24, of Geneva, who was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony. She is the fourth suspect taken into custody, according to police. Kerr was processed at the Geneva Police Department and transported to the Ontario County Jail, where she awaits arraignment.
Earlier arrests included Joequell E. Solomon, 31, of Geneva, on January 13, and Erica Marie White, 32, and Tyler Armond Liberatore, 28, on January 10. All three were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Police confirmed that Solomon and Liberatore are convicted felons. Authorities believe the shooting was an isolated incident, but the investigation remains open, with additional charges possible.
Liberatore is also facing charges in a separate gang assault case, highlighting his alleged involvement in a violent attack on December 31. In that incident, Liberatore, Horace Betts, 40, and Jamie L. Downing, 32, are accused of assaulting a man with a baseball bat on Seneca Street. The victim suffered severe injuries, including a broken jaw and internal trauma, requiring hospitalization.

All three men in the gang assault case have been charged with first-degree gang assault, a class B felony, and second-degree assault, a class D felony. Betts and Downing were taken into custody on January 16, while Liberatore was arrested earlier in the week. All three remain in the Ontario County Jail without bail.
Geneva Police said both the shooting and the assault were isolated events and assured residents there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
