The Seneca County Board of Supervisors will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m. at the Seneca County Office Building. The agenda includes a public hearing, multiple funding and contract discussions, and the adoption of local law adjustments.
A key item for public input is a hearing on proposed Local Law 4, which outlines salary adjustments for elected officials, senior county personnel, and other key positions in 2025. These adjustments include raises for roles such as the county attorney, county manager, and election commissioners, as well as salaries for newly established positions.
The board will also vote on significant contracts for mental health services in partnership with various organizations, including Lakeview Mental Health Services, Aspire Hope NY, and Unity House of Cayuga County. These contracts total over $1.7 million and aim to support mental health and substance abuse services across the county, utilizing state aid and other funding sources.
Additionally, resolutions to authorize contracts for grants aimed at lead poisoning prevention, early intervention services, and youth with special healthcare needs will be addressed. These programs will utilize over $100,000 in state and federal funding.
Other highlights include budget amendments for 2024, a proposal to renew the county’s partnership with Auctions International for surplus goods sales, and a resolution urging the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation to address concerns over Cargill’s Cayuga Salt Mine permit.
