Ex-Cayuga legislator accused of new $13.5K fraud

Former Cayuga County legislator Jeffrey Q. Blauvelt, 66, is accused of defrauding two clients out of $13,515 through his landscaping company, Trident Storm Recovery.

Blauvelt allegedly accepted payments for incomplete projects, including a parking lot and concrete pad in Auburn and a block foundation in Genoa.


Blauvelt, previously removed from office for a 2003 criminal conviction, faces multiple felony charges and is scheduled for court on Feb. 20.

His legal troubles include a 2004 sentencing for falsifying financial records.
