Giuliani faces contempt hearing over $148M judgment

Rudy Giuliani testified in a Manhattan federal court contempt hearing over his alleged failure to disclose assets tied to a $148 million defamation judgment awarded to two Georgia election workers. He argued the two-week deadline for compliance was too short compared to other legal cases he’s involved in.

Lawyers accuse Giuliani of withholding key assets, including valuable memorabilia and cash, despite surrendering a Mercedes-Benz and his New York apartment without proper documentation for liquidation. A trial concerning his Palm Beach property and World Series rings is set for mid-January.

Giuliani claims his Florida residence should be protected as his primary home, while his lawyers remain optimistic about winning on appeal. The judge has yet to rule on potential sanctions.
