A man was arrested following a nearly five-hour standoff with police in the Town of Clay after threatening to harm law enforcement.
Nathan McRae, 35, called 911 late Friday night, claiming he was armed and intended to kill police officers. Deputies responded, issued a shelter-in-place alert to nearby residents, and engaged in prolonged negotiations with McRae.
The standoff ended peacefully around 4:40 a.m. Saturday when McRae surrendered. He was charged with a felony count of making a terroristic threat. Authorities are continuing to investigate and executing search warrants to confirm if McRae possessed firearms.
