Qualcomm may soon unveil the “Snapdragon 8s Elite,” a chip rumored to bridge the power gap between its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3 processors. Leaks suggest the chip could launch in early 2025, potentially alongside a midrange Snapdragon 7 Plus SoC.
Speculation points to the Snapdragon 8s Elite swapping Qualcomm’s high-performing Oryon cores for ARM-based alternatives, which might limit its power boost. Reports from leakers suggest devices featuring the chip could include phones with massive 7,000mAh batteries, further enhancing their appeal for heavy users.
While the exact performance of the Snapdragon 8s Elite remains unclear, Qualcomm’s push for on-device AI, higher refresh rates, and energy efficiency will likely set the stage for a competitive offering in the flagship market.
