Two-vehicle crash in Arcadia sends one to hospital

A Monday morning crash at a rural Wayne County intersection left one person injured and both vehicles heavily damaged, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were called to Marbletown and Miller roads in the town of Arcadia around 6:27 a.m. after multiple 911 callers reported a collision involving two vehicles.

Investigators said a sedan driven by Tyler Johnson, of Phelps, and a pickup truck operated by Hunter Reynolds, of Lyons, collided after one of the drivers failed to stop at a stop sign.

One person was taken by ambulance to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital with what were described as minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Marbletown and Newark fire departments, Newark EMS, Wayne County Medic, Wayne County EMS, and Union Street Automotive.

The crash remains under investigation.
