A man was arrested for possession of a firearm without a permit in the Town of Canandaigua on Sunday evening.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a stolen firearm and initiated an investigation.
During the investigation, it was determined that Onofre H. Nieto, 23, was in possession of the firearm and did not have the required New York State pistol permit.
Nieto was arrested and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date to face charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.
