A 37-year-old man was arrested Saturday after a fatal shooting at an apartment on Maple Street in the Town of Lyons, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to 24 Maple St., Apt. 1, around 10:36 a.m. after receiving 911 calls reporting a domestic violence incident and gunfire. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Shawn G. Rahn, 40, of Lyons, deceased inside the residence.
Following interviews and an investigation in the immediate area, deputies quickly identified a suspect. At approximately 12:34 p.m., Randolph L. Scott, 37, who lived at the residence, was located at a neighboring home and taken into custody.
Scott has been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was set to be arraigned Sunday morning at 7 a.m. in centralized arraignment. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, the Village of Clyde Police Department, and Wayne County EMS.
