Ex-Addison clerk forfeits pension to repay $450,000 after $1M theft

In a landmark case, a former Addison Village clerk will forfeit her pension to help repay $450,000 after embezzling over $1 million from the village. The 56-year-old was sentenced to three to nine years in state prison after pleading guilty to first-degree corrupting the government.

Initially indicted on 192 felony counts—including grand larceny and money laundering—she reached a plea deal resulting in other charges being dismissed. The restitution was set at a hearing in Steuben County court, where it was agreed her forfeited $1,920 monthly pension would be used for repayment.

Between 2004 and 2023, she manipulated financial records, gave herself unauthorized raises, and misappropriated funds, including checks from the Addison Central School District. She resigned in March 2023 during a state comptroller’s investigation and was arrested after a grand jury indictment in November 2023.
