Flames tore through a Corning apartment early Wednesday, leaving one person dead and several firefighters hurt, according to WETM.
Crews responded just before 7 a.m. to a multi-unit building on Wall Street and found heavy fire conditions. Firefighters rescued a trapped resident who couldn’t escape, but Lynne Frances Mason later died from her injuries.
Officials say several firefighters suffered minor injuries and are expected to recover. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire, and no additional details have been released.
