Keuka College will commemorate Constitution Day with a presentation exploring presidential succession and disability, focusing on the 25th Amendment. The event will feature Professor of History Dr. Christopher Leahy, a noted expert on the U.S. presidency and American politics.
The lecture, titled “Presidential Disability: What Happens Next? A Look at the 25th Amendment,” will take place on Tuesday, September 17, at 4 p.m. in Norton Chapel. Dr. Leahy will examine the amendment’s provisions for determining a president’s inability to perform duties, a topic gaining attention in recent political discourse.
Dr. Leahy, author of President without a Party: The Life of John Tyler (2020), has previously presented at institutions like the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and on C-SPAN. The public is invited to attend the free event.
