Austin Wells, Juan Soto, and Aaron Judge went deep as the New York Yankees (58-39) picked up a 6-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles (57-38), winning their first series since June 10-13.
New York scored four first-inning runs off Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez. Gleyber Torres drove in the first run with a two-out RBI single, and Wells followed that with a bang, launching a three-run home run over the right-field wall, his sixth of the season.
Soto smacked his 23rd of the season in the fifth, and Judge went back-to-back, crushing his Major League-leading 34th.
Luis Gil tossed six innings of one-run ball while striking out seven. Tim Hill tossed two scoreless before Jake Cousins recorded the final three outs.
The Yankees will go for the three-game sweep of the Orioles on Sunday at 11:35 a.m. with Carlos Rodón on the hill.
