New York State Police have identified Rodney G. McClure, 59, as the man who died in a house fire on July 2 in northern Cayuga County.
McClure helped Joseph H. Goodsell, 78, escape the blaze at their home on 12119 McNeely Road. Goodsell went to a neighbor’s house for help after escaping and was unharmed.
McClure was later found deceased inside the house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
