A Victory man was arrested Friday after deputies found him at a residence he had been ordered to stay away from following an earlier arrest involving a shotgun, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Luke Rigdon, 45, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt after deputies went to the Town of Victory home around 2 p.m. to locate him and serve a separate court order.
While speaking with family members, deputies discovered Rigdon was at the house in violation of a full stay-away order of protection, the sheriff’s office said.
He was taken into custody around 2:20 p.m., processed at the Public Safety Building and taken to Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The sheriff’s office said he was remanded to jail, reporting bail of $10,000 cash or $20,000.
The protection order followed an Oct. 20 arrest on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.
Deputies had responded to a reported domestic incident around 10:43 p.m. that night and were told Rigdon threatened to shoot a victim while possessing a shotgun during an argument with family members, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies interviewed those involved and arrested him around 10:55 p.m.
He was initially taken to jail to await arraignment the next morning.
At that Oct. 21 arraignment, an order protecting the victim was issued and Rigdon was released on his own recognizance, the sheriff’s office said.
