The Waterloo Central School District is restarting its search for a new superintendent after the initial effort did not find a suitable candidate.

The school board announced Wednesday that despite an extensive search with consultant Mike Ford, no candidate was selected. The board has now appointed Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Superintendent Lynne Rutnik to lead the new search.

“We are committed to finding the right leader for our district,” the board stated. Interim Superintendent Robert Banzer will continue in his role until a new superintendent is appointed. The board emphasized the need for a leader who values communication, transparency, and collaboration, and who can support the district’s staff and students effectively.
