Geneva High School has named Elisabeth Porschet as this year’s valedictorian and Sophia Cosentino as the salutatorian.
Elisabeth Porschet credits her success to her family of readers and role models. “My parents are librarians, so I’ve always been around books,” she said. Elisabeth’s father, Jonathan, is a library media specialist at Geneva High and Geneva Middle School, while her mother, Christine, works at Marcus Whitman Central School. Elisabeth plans to attend Williams College in Massachusetts, inspired by her experiences with teachers like Melissa Marquart and George Goga.
Sophia Cosentino, the salutatorian, plans to study global business management and marketing at Rochester Institute of Technology. She aims for a career in sales and interior design. Sophia thanks many teachers, especially Debra Collins, her retired art teacher. She advises incoming students to make the most of their time and to trust themselves and the universe.
