Police say an Otego man is in custody after an investigation in the village of Bath.
According to a news release, Andrew McCarthy, 35, drove nearly two hours with the intent to meet-up with a 14-year-old girl for sex.
Police added that McCarthy intended to take the teen back to his home, as well.
McCarthy was ultimately charged with second-degree rape and attempted luring a child, both felonies.
He was processed at the Steuben County Jail and will answer the charges at a later date.
