The Yates County History Center has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation’s Yates Community Endowment. The grant will be used to support supplies, utilities, and educational programming at the History Center.
The Yates County History Center is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of Yates County. It operates the L. Caroline Underwood Museum, the Oliver House, and the Scherer Carriage House, which features a permanent exhibit on the Public Universal Friend. The History Center is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a suggested donation of $5 for admission.
