Yankees drop second straight to Orioles

The New York Yankees suffered their second straight loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night, falling 4-2 as the offense was quiet again.

New York (19-12) managed five hits and had just one runner in scoring position. Juan Soto and Austin Wells each had two, and both hit solo home runs.

Nestor Cortes allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings while walking two and striking out five. Luke Weaver tossed two scoreless in relief of Cortes.

The Yankees will try to snap their two-game skid in the third game of this four-game series on Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. Luis Gil will take the ball for New York.
