One dead, another injured after Dansville crash

In a tragic incident in Dansville a man died and another was injured following a car accident early Friday morning. Authorities reported that Timothy Williams, 45, from Wayland, lost control of his vehicle due to a medical condition and crashed into a tree on Maple Street around 9:36 a.m. Bystanders who witnessed the crash were able to assist the victims before emergency services arrived.


According to the Dansville Police, Williams was driving a 2017 Ford Escape when he experienced the medical issue. His passenger attempted to steer the vehicle but it collided with a tree at high speed. Williams was transported to Noyes Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The passenger sustained multiple non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The Livingston County 911 center confirmed the accident is under investigation to determine the precise cause and circumstances.
