High school seniors in the Finger Lakes region with aspirations in healthcare have until April 12 to apply for the Thompson Health Guild Scholarship. This year, up to five students will be awarded $2,000 each to support their studies in health-related fields. Eligible students must be enrolled in a healthcare-related program and complete their first semester successfully to continue receiving the scholarship.

The scholarships are open to seniors from 16 local districts, including Bloomfield, Canandaigua, and Geneva, among others, highlighting the Guild’s commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals within UR Medicine Thompson Health’s service area. The application process involves submissions by both the student and their guidance counselor through the Thompson Health website.

The Thompson Health Guild, which operates as the auxiliary arm of the UR Medicine Thompson Health system, not only supports scholarships but also funds facility expansions, equipment purchases, and community health programs. This initiative underscores the Guild’s dedication to healthcare excellence and community service.
