Rochester to Orlando: New flight route launched by Allegiant

Residents of Rochester looking for a sunny getaway to Orlando have a new travel option to consider. Allegiant Travel Company has kicked off its spring seasonal service connecting Rochester to Sanford, Florida. This addition is part of Allegiant’s seasonal increase of services in nearly two dozen cities across the United States, aiming to cater to the anticipated rise in spring travel demand.

Nonstop flights between Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport commenced on Friday, with schedules including up to four weekly flights. For the months of February and March, travelers can find flights on Mondays, Fridays, and select Saturdays, as detailed on Allegiant’s website.

Allegiant, which annually facilitates travel for nearly 8 million leisure travelers to and from Florida, now offers Rochester residents two Florida destinations. Alongside the new Orlando route, the airline continues to serve the Punta Gorda Airport, complementing its travel offerings with a hotel and resort on the Gulf Coast. This expansion follows closely on the heels of Avelo Airlines’ announcement of new routes linking Rochester with Spartanburg, South Carolina, and increasing flights to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.
