Spectrum has recently announced the removal of WROC and its HD counterpart from its TV lineup in various communities west and south of Rochester, affecting Genesee, Steuben, and Wyoming Counties.
The change, effective January 23, 2024, for some areas and February 7, 2024, for others, was communicated to customers through notices last week, leading to an immediate loss of WROC’s signal. Spectrum’s announcement detailed the affected communities and offered customers the option to modify their service or disconnect without charge within 30 days of the notice.
WROC has expressed disappointment over Spectrum’s decision, stating that the cable provider chose to drop the channel rather than agree to a fair market rate for the local content provided, including news, weather, sports, and network entertainment. WROC regrets the inconvenience caused to its viewers and encourages them to contact Charter/Spectrum at 833-267-6094 to request the reinstatement of WROC in the Spectrum channel lineup.
