It is with deep sorrow that family announces the peaceful passing of David J. Fridley on October 25 within the comforting walls of his cherished mancave.

Born in Waterloo on May 2, 1965, to Douglas and Elsie (Schweitz) Fridley.

The void left by his departure is profoundly felt by his beloved wife and best friend, Gail (Cutlip), who was his partner in every adventure and joy.

David’s legacy lives on through his son David. He is also survived by his sisters, Valerie of Ohio and Tracey (Vince) of Florida, as well as his stepsons (Zachary Cutlip and Derek Mehlenbacher), who he loved as his own.

Those who knew David were touched by his generosity, his unwavering friendship, and his ability to make anyone feel like the most important person in the room. His passing leaves a gap in the fabric of so many lives he touched.

To honor the man who was truly “a great guy,” a celebration of David’s life will be held this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Oak Island in Waterloo.
