Former 4-H members Cadence Spence and Ethan Smith unveiled new additions to Beechwood State Park on October 15, showcasing their dedication to giving back to a place of cherished memories. Now serving as 4-H counselors, Spence and Smith saw the opportunity to enhance the park’s facilities.
The duo successfully secured a $1,000 grant from NYS 4-H, which they utilized to construct three picnic tables and five benches. Throughout the project, they collaborated with the park’s caretaker to determine the best way to use the funds for the benefit of park visitors.
The contributions were officially presented during a dedication ceremony at the park, attended by local officials and dignitaries, marking their commitment to the community and the park.
