Macedon Lumberjack Festival marks four decades

The Macedon Lumberjack Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary on Sunday, drawing professional lumberjacks to the Macedon Fireman’s field to showcase their skills in competitions recognized by the New York State Lumberjack Association.

From axe throwing to relays, participants demonstrated their year-long training amidst other festivities that included a pancake breakfast, crafts, raffles, and a petting zoo.

To commemorate the occasion, organizers presented a special 40th-anniversary mug. The festival, a cornerstone in the community’s calendar, serves as a significant fundraiser benefiting the local church, rotary, and the Macedon Fire Departments. John Bauer, the Co-Chairman of the Lumberjack Festival, emphasized the event’s longstanding tradition and importance to the community.
