Two people are in custody after attempting to escape capture after a larceny in Seneca Falls.
Seneca Falls police first apprehended Angel B. Goldwaite, 34, of North Hampton, Massachusetts, at 4:39 p.m. on Friday following an alleged theft at a local store.
Witnesses claimed that Goldwaite pushed out a cart loaded with merchandise, bypassing checkout counters without paying.
She then proceeded to a semi-truck where she was joined by two other individuals. One of those individuals was arrested by police, and identified as 49-year-old Luis Ruiz. He was charged with petit larceny.
After pulling the truck over, both Goldwaite and Ruiz reportedly tried to evade the officers but were quickly arrested.
Facing a Petit larceny charge, a misdemeanor, Goldwaite was subsequently released with an appearance ticket.
Both will answer the charges at a later date.
