FINGER LAKES TODAY: The race for Seneca County Sheriff, Single Use plastic bags and Jake Chard of Gorham (video)

On the Thursday, January 12 2023 edition of Finger Lakes Today. hosts Jim Sinicropi and Sydney Radka prepare you for the day. 

First, Jim tells us about the weather that we should be expecting to see this weekend. Then, Josh Durso drops in to talk the latest headlines around the region. Stories include: the race for Seneca County Sheriff, Grocery stores review of the plastic bag ban and broadband internet maps. 


After Josh informs us of the latest news, Rick Newman of Generations Bank drops in to talk about the Right to Run 5k upcoming this summer. The Right to Run 5k takes place in historic Seneca Falls and celebrates women’s suffrage. 

After that exclusive interview, Rebecca Swift sits down with Jake Chard to talk about the latest news in Gorham. Chard is the town councilor in Gorham.

To end the show, Producer Paul Russo joins the show to talk about the world of sports. There has been some great local HS basketball games of late and Paul has all the information. On Tuesday night, Nate Sharman and Paul Russo were able to be joined by Waterloo Tigers Girls Head Basketball Coach Mike Bree live from Waterloo High School to talk about his team and their undefeated season. 

They end the show talking about Super Wild Card Weekend and their favorite possible upsets of the weekend.
