Cortland man faces attempted murder charge after shooting woman in face, neck

Police say a Cortland man has been arrested after a shooting on Friday, December 16th.

According to officials, police were called to an area of Main Street around 1 p.m.

A 30-year-old woman had been shot in the face and neck.


The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Tyshawn Pittman. He was an acquaintance to the victim. He’s also a tenant at the building where the shooting took place.

He was charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The victim is recovering and is expected to survive.
