The Village of Port Byron has unveiled a new apartment complex, offering 69 affordable units, with 30 providing on-site support services.
The Port Byron Apartments replace the outdated Church Street Apartments. The project included constructing a three-story building and converting the old site into a recreation area. Residents from the old building were moved into the new complex upon its completion.
Governor Kathy Hochul praised the development, highlighting its role in increasing affordable housing and supporting independent living for older residents and those needing assistance. The complex features Energy Star appliances, a pet park, a community garden, and high-speed internet. DePaul Properties, Inc. developed the project and will provide services for the residents.
