Aaron Judge wins third career Silver Slugger Award

Outfielder Aaron Judge won the 2022 Silver Slugger Award on Thursday, an award given to the best offensive players at each position in each league.

This is Judge’s third Silver Slugger Award. He previously won it as a rookie in 2017 and his second came last season.

Julio Rodriguez of the Seattle Mariners and Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels joined Judge as the three outfield winners.

Judge set an American League record with 62 home runs while leading MLB in RBIs (131), runs (133), and OPS (1.111).

Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, and Giancarlo Stanton were also nominated for the Silver Slugger awards. However, none of them won at their respective positions.
