Syracuse Mets hold off Worcester to snap skid

The Syracuse Mets held on for a 6-4 victory over the Worcester Red Sox on Saturday night at NBT Bank Stadium, snapping a three-game skid.

New York Mets No. 15 prospect Jose Butto started on the mound for Syracuse and surrendered three runs on seven hits over four innings while walking three and striking out two.

Jordan Yamamoto fired a scoreless inning in relief and picked up the win. Locke St. John earned the save after recording the final six outs of the contest.

Daniel Palka smacked his team-leading 25th home run of the season for the Mets. Palka has now homered in four of his last five games. Dominic Smith drove in a pair of runs, while Travis Jankowski and Nick Plummer also collected RBIs.

Syracuse will try to split the six-game series on Sunday. The first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
