Rev: Ithaca Startup Works opens doors for innovators with expanded accelerator program

Rev: Ithaca Startup Works, a cornerstone for innovation and entrepreneurship, has announced the opening of applications for its Prototyping Hardware Accelerator. The program, renowned for turning physical product ideas into prototypes, is now enriched with a MedTech track and boasts increased support capacity for aspiring entrepreneurs. This opportunity is designed to shepherd participants through the critical phases of prototype development, business modeling, and pitch crafting.

The expansion is propelled by a recent $4 million funding boost, aimed at nurturing medical device innovation among other sectors. Through partnerships with Cornell University’s faculties and Weill Cornell Medicine, the MedTech track promises specialized mentorship and training in medical regulations, preparing participants to navigate the complex healthcare industry landscape. Additionally, the program offers tracks in ClimateTech, AgTech, and an Open category for various innovations, alongside access to a fully-equipped prototyping workshop.

Rev’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship is underscored by its comprehensive support system, guiding innovators from prototype to production. With a new “Protofacturing” accelerator bridging initial development and manufacturing phases, Rev continues to stimulate economic growth and innovation in upstate New York. Applications for the program are open until March 25, 2024, with a virtual information session scheduled for March 20.
