The New York Mets fell to the Atlanta Braves, 9-6, on Friday night at Citi Field. The five-game series is now even at a game apiece.

Taijuan Walker started for New York and really struggled. The right-hander surrendered eight runs over just an inning of work.

The Mets bullpen did an excellent job as they combined for eight shutout innings, including four scoreless from Trevor Williams.

Jeff McNeil crushed his sixth home run of the season and drove in another run with a double. Darin Ruf hammered a two-run double while Brandon Nimmo and Eduardo Escobar had run-scoring singles.

The two teams will play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday. The first game will start at 1:10 p.m., and the second game is set for 7:10 p.m.
