Paul Goodrell, a 55-year-old from Canandaigua, was sentenced to seven years in prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision for multiple incidents of public lewdness involving minors. Goodrell, who is a level-three sex offender, had pleaded guilty in February to eight counts, including public lewdness, endangering the welfare of children, and a sexually motivated felony burglary.

The sentencing took place after Goodrell admitted to exposing himself in various public locations including Wegmans, Dollar Tree, Tops, and a Walmart in Victor, where he targeted children as young as four and seven years old. The judge ordered the sentences for burglary and public lewdness to run concurrently.

Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Anthony Dimartino emphasized the importance of Goodrell’s imprisonment for community safety, noting the distress caused to families involved. Victim advocates from the DA’s office have been actively supporting the affected families, expressing satisfaction with the trial’s outcome.
